What is Suminagashi?
Suminagashi — meaning floating ink — is the ancient Japanese art of marbling paper using only water and ink. Originating as early as the 12th century, this gentle and meditative process creates fluid, swirling patterns that transform plain sheets into vibrant, one-of-a-kind artworks. Simply float your inks on water, take a breath, make a swirl, and watch the magic unfold.
